After the legalization of cannabis in Michigan in '08, Tim used his background in HVAC to pivot into the marijuana space. With his longtime friend Steve — a builder — and his brother Chris, who brought heavy machinery and welding experience, the trio ventured into cultivation.

Multiple break-ins. Raids from local and state police. Hundreds of thousands of dollars lost over the years. Vehicles repossessed, bank accounts seized, homes gutted. After fighting felony charges for over a decade — winning some, losing others, recouping some monies but not all — the white market is where they focused on moving forward.

With vast experience working in the Michigan market across retail, processing, and growing premium flower, the guys set their focus on the neighboring Illinois market.

With a passion for the most premium of flower and a little luck, the social equity fellas from Detroit partnered up with friends Rick and Rob and their beautiful vintage bowling alley — Classic Lanes — in South Chicago Heights.

Bringing their old-school "ziplock bag" style packaging — the kind you'd get on the corner from your local plug — and the street-style attitude of their trademarked name, the Korner Boys set off to build another beautiful cultivation facility. Same goal in mind: bring to the state of Illinois products that surpass that of the norm.

In a newly recreational state, this team of highly motivated, extremely passionate, brothers-from-another-mother are already regarded as some of the top growers in Illinois.
